What to Expect in Thousand Oaks
La Ventana’s residential treatment centers in Thousand Oaks provide welcoming, comfortable environments where clients can focus on recovery without worrying about their physical safety. Our staff will instill a feeling of community connection, guiding clients to engage in healthy interactions with our team, like-minded clients, the client’s social network, and support groups.
Clients who will be admitted to our residential treatment programs should bring the following items with them when they check in:
- Toiletries
- Comfortable Clothing
- Notebooks / Journals
- Reading Books
- Personal interest items/hobbies
- Pictures of family and friends
- Identification
- Information regarding prior treatment
- Phone*
- MP3 player for music
- Stationery and stamps for letter writing
- Comfortable shoes
- Personal items of interest to you
*Phones are subject to a 72-hour blackout period upon admission; afterwards, use is limited to clinical necessity.

Dress Code:
No provocative/revealing clothing
No depictions of drug/alcohol, sexual, racial, gang-related or political/controversial messaging
No drawstrings

Clients Must Supply Their Own
- OTC medications, ie. Tylenol, aspirin, ALCOHOL-FREE cough medicine, etc.
- Hygiene products, ie. Tampons
- Cigarettes
Once admitted LV staff will purchase cigarettes for them one day per week. Staff will not purchase any cigarettes or vape products to any client under the age of 21. - Cash, debit, credit card for incidentals (no more than $200 cash)
